I tried to use Motofail2go to root my Verizon Razr M, and only later discovered that in order to root a Razr M, it has to be a developer edition to root. This seems to be the case no matter what. Am I wrong? If only that was made clear within every page that discusses how to root a Razr M.Anywase, I ran the program and it said that the root was successful, but upon checking my root with 'RootChecker,' it says that the phone has not been rooted. And I even tried to root the phone after reverting to a factory reset. Now, since this phone is locked because it is not a developer edition, should I even concern myself with reverting back to the factory edition? It seems to be a pain in the ass and a risky process to revert back from a rooted edition.
But the question is, has my phone actually been rooted, or has it been partially rooted? Furthermore, will this show up if something happens to the phone, or will a potential partial root cause problems to the phone? Lastly, is it worth my time to go through the process of reverting back to a factory edition?

Droid Razr M Developers Edition Droid Plus It has been more than two weeks since Verizon started rolling the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the DROID RAZR M. By now, most of the users of the device would already have updated their phones to the latest software version. For Droid Razr M (XT907) Consumer and Developer Edition. CyanogenMod10-Alpha for standard over-the-counter Consumer Razr M's and Developer Edition Razr M's. If interested, would suggest in depth review of everything CM (CyanogenMod).
But it still fails. I cannot find where the hell this.apk is on my phone to remove the previously installed version, which is where some of the factory resets came in. (killing a fly with a shotgun, I know.).
